Red Lodge Clay Center has represented Reid Schoonover for a few years now, but only through his saki cups and teabowls. This month we are delighted to present a fuller breadth of Reid’s work. We believe you will find his is a craftsman of the highest order, regardless of his material choice.
“The materials I use continue to speak in a contemporary way about life and times past through compositional, visual and tactile aspects such as color, grain, pattern and texture. I see my work as art of today speaking as artifact of tomorrow, referencing historic times through both function and visual stimulation.”
Reid may say artifact, we think another apt word might be heirloom.
