Curatorial Statement

Bare Essentials will include artwork that explores ideas of both minimalism and essentialism. Minimalism showcases work where artists make decisions that are pared down, efficient, and “less”, while essentialism includes details that individual artists choose as most important. This exhibition will feature ceramic work by artists that consider the most essential details of utility, content, and beauty in their work.
Participating artists include: Kristina Batiste, Justin Donofrio, Clay Leonard, Brooks Oliver, Justin Paik Reese, Chris Staley, Jerilyn Virden, and Alex Watson.
