Wheel & Wine – Adult Ceramics Class (one-night)

Need a little creative outlet? Looking for a fun time with a friend, partner, or spouse? Come to RLCC for a one-night, vino drinkin’ good time getting your hands dirty! Participants will get the opportunity to learn how to make a wheel-thrown ceramic piece, snack on delicious dainties, and sip on a delicious glass of wine from our own local Babcock & Miles! All beverages are complimentary, alcohol is not for sale.

21 and older only please! Participants will be asked to present valid ID.

Continuing Education Adult Clay Class – Handbuilding & Sculpture

This 8-Week class is open to all levels but, will focus on methods and techniques for the beginner. Students will learn the basics of shaping clay, specifically focusing on figurative and abstract forms. RLCC instructors will assist students through demonstrations and hands-on learning. In addition, students will learn how to finish their work using clay slips, glazes, and other ceramic materials. RLCC 8-week Cont. Ed adult clay classes include one 25lb. bag of clay with the purchase of the class but, does not include access to our ‘open studio’ hours. Additional clay is available for purchase through RLCC, we do not allow outside clay into the studio.

  • RL Continuing Education will charge an additional $15.00 at the time of Registration. This is a separate fee from the Clay Centers Class Fee.

Adult Summer Clay Camp – Session #2 (July 2019)

This week-long intensive clay camp is designed for the complete novice student as well as those with prior experience. Our staff will help students refine their skills, learn new ones, and complete personal projects. We will cover how to throw pottery on the wheel, make hand-built sculptures, and how to glaze finished pieces. This course will meet everyday for one week.

Monday–Friday, July 15th – July 19th (3 hour Class) 9am-12 noon

Instructor: Karl Schwiesow, Jon Green, Emily Nickel, & Kelsey Bowen.

Cost: $110

(Tuition: Includes 1, 25 lb. bag of clay, slips, glazes, and firing fees)

Kid’s Summer Clay Camp – Session #2 (July 2019)

Kids Clay Camp is a 4-day class (July 9th – July 12th) Tuesday – Friday, 10am-12pm. Classes will focus on a different, fun theme each day. Students can make tiles, pottery, animal sculptures, and will cover a variety of interesting and inventive clay construction methods. Students will be able to decorate each project with colorful slips and glazes. Projects will be ready for pick up beginning July 26th.

Cost: $60

Ages 6-13

Kid’s Clay Camp

Kids Clay Camp is a 4-day class (June 20th-23rd) Tuesday-Friday, 10am-12pm. Students can come for one day, or all 4 days. Classes will focus on a different, fun theme each day.
