Curatorial Statement

Each invited artist to this exhibition has a labor-intensive process towards surface. They all go far beyond the “dunk-and-done” style of glazing, and it is in this layered approach that these artists have set themselves apart. In Layers will feature a variety of utilitarian pottery, vessel forms, and small sculptures with “next level” surface treatments.
