Wheel & Wine – Adult Ceramics Class (one-night)

Need a little creative outlet? Looking for a fun time with a friend, partner, or spouse? Come to RLCC for a one-night, vino drinkin’ good time getting your hands dirty! Participants will get the opportunity to learn how to make a wheel-thrown ceramic piece, snack on delicious dainties, and sip on a delicious glass of wine from our own local Babcock & Miles! All beverages are complimentary, alcohol is not for sale.

21 and older only please! Participants will be asked to present valid ID.

Wednesday Afternoon Adult Ceramics (10 weeks) Fall 2019

This 10-Week afternoon Adult Ceramics class is open to all levels (Beginning- Advanced) and will focus on wheel-throwing and hand-building techniques. Students will have the opportunity to learn about creating objects in clay and use slip and glazes to decorate and embellish the surfaces. RLCC 10-week adult clay classes include one 25lb. bag of clay with the purchase of the class as well as access to our ‘open studio’ hours. These times occur during RLCC Gallery business hours when there are no other scheduled classes or events. Additional clay is available for purchase through RLCC, we do not allow outside clay into the studio.

RLCC CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY

– RLCC will offer a full refund of registration/class fees if cancellation is made at least 48 hrs. in advance of first class.

– If cancellation occurs less than 48 hrs. prior to the start of a class, participant will forfeit 50% of the total class fee, or, at the request of participant RLCC may credit the total amount to be used on an alternative class at a later date.

– If cancellation or no-show occurs once the class has commenced RLCC reserves the right to withhold all Fees paid by participant. However, RLCC understands that extenuating circumstances may occur and will make every effort to take these into consideration. In some cases, participant may be eligible to receive a partial or full credit towards another class.

Exhibition Reception – Kenyon Hansen

Join us for our first Exhibition Reception of the new year! We will be featuring a Solo Exhibition by artist Kenyon Hansen. His work combines the subtle effects of Soda-Firing with a strong sense of the object’s architecture and color pallette.  There will be a wide variety of Kenyon’s functional pottery available to view and purchase.

Demo Workshop – Sunshine Cobb

Come join us for our fall workshop with the amazing Sunshine Cobb!

Saturday, Sept. 23rd 9am – 4pm, Sunday, Sept. 24th 10am – 4pm
Sunshine will be demonstrating her techniques and sharing her experiences at the Red Lodge Clay Center – Fox Studios located 6 miles north of Red Lodge at 463 Two-Mile Bridge Road In conjunction with the workshop we will have a closing reception on Friday, September 22nd for our Juried National IV exhibition, juried by Sunshine. The Exhibition Reception will be at our downtown gallery location: 123 S. Broadway Ave., Red Lodge, MT 59068 from 5-7pm. (406) 446-3993

The Workshop and Reception are Free and Open to the Public! However, if plan on attending the workshop we ask that you call the Clay Center and register, as there is limited space available.

Kid’s Clay Camp

Kids Clay Camp is a 4-day class (June 20th-23rd) Tuesday-Friday, 10am-12pm. Students can come for one day, or all 4 days. Classes will focus on a different, fun theme each day. Students can make tiles, pottery, animal sculptures, and will cover a variety of interesting and inventive clay construction methods. Students will be able to decorate each project with colorful slips and glazes. Projects will be ready for pick up beginning July 11th.

Cost: $60, or $15 per day

Ages 6-13

Adult Clay Camp

This week-long intensive clay camp is designed for the complete novice student as well as those with prior experience. Our staff will help students refine their skills, learn new ones, and complete personal projects. We will cover how to throw pottery on the wheel, make hand-built sculptures, and how to glaze finished pieces. This course will meet everyday for one week.

Monday–Friday, June 5th-9th (3 hour Class) 9am-12 noon

Cost: $110

(Tuition: Includes 1st 25 lb. bag of clay, slips, glazes, and firing fees).

Father’s Day Class for Kids

The Father’s Day Holiday Class is a one-day class (Sat. June 3rd 10:30am-12pm), open to the entire family and all ages. Students can create a one of a kind Mug for their Dad, Father, Step Father, or any combination of those to enjoy coffee, or a special beverage of his choice! Works will be available for pick up beginning June 13th.
